As a former director, board of directors of the Ottawa Conservation District, I understand how important responsible stewardship of our natural resources is to the future of West Michigan.

That is one of the reasons I am proud to endorse Meegan Zickus for State Representative in Michigan’s 89th District.

I know Meegan will do what it takes to tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges facing West Michigan—from PFAS contamination and groundwater protection to environmental resiliency and the long-term health of our lakeshore.

Meegan understands that protecting our environment also means being willing to stand up to corporate polluters when our communities, water, and natural resources are at risk. That includes demanding accountability when facilities such as the J.H. Campbell plant threaten the health and beauty of the lakeshore we all share.

She also understands something especially important to our region: conservation and agriculture go hand in hand. Changes in our climate, water supply, and growing conditions have real consequences for West Michigan farmers and the agricultural way of life that has helped define our communities for generations.

Meegan brings a genuine commitment to conserving our precious natural resources while recognizing the needs of the families, farmers, businesses, and communities that call the 89th District home.

Meegan Zickus wholeheartedly has my endorsement. I believe she will represent all of the people of Michigan’s 89th House District with exceptional distinction.
